In the Old West, horseshoes were seen as symbols of good luck and protection. The horseshoe’s U-shape, reminiscent of a crescent moon, was seen as a sign of prosperity and good fortune. People often hung a horseshoe above their door with the ends facing up to catch and hold onto good luck, ensuring it wouldn’t spill out.
An original, worn horseshoe was especially valued, as it carried the strong energies of the animal, symbolizing power, endurance, and achievement. Hanging such a horseshoe at your doorstep was, and still is believed to invite positive forces, keeping bad luck at bay and bringing good fortune and happiness into your home, whether on the dusty trails or in the heart of a bustling town.
